Brief outline of the project

This Project was designed to provide an experimental framework of computer infrastructure and services in a number of secondary schools.

More specifically, this project:

  • Determines and initiates the necessary actions/activities for the experimental installation of high-speed network infrastructures in a small number of secondary schools (preferably in remote areas).
  • On the basis of this network infrastructure, as part of the educational process, designs and tests:
    1. Communication with students and teachers in remote areas (tele-conferencing).
    2. Collaboration among children in remote schools in the realization of school projects (distance collaboration services).
    3. Distance teaching.

The impact of these systems and services was evaluated, and reports made to the appropriate agencies in Greece and abroad.
